Program Note: In Tactless the three instrumental protagonists have a great deal of difficulty in deciding what type of music to play. The celesta is content to play soothing, melancholy chords in a hypnotizing, repetitive rhythm, but the cellist is not happy with this idea at all, wanting to play in a much more noisy, textural way. Meanwhile, the harp is trapped in the middle, struggling to find some common ground between these two extremes.
